I purchased an Upper East Side coop as a first time buyer using Elika, with Denise Thirkill as my agent. Denise was patient and professional, and very responsive, showing me properties around Harlem, East Harlem and the Upper East Side for about 3 months (including one offer that I ended up backing out of) before I finally found the one. Denise and the Elika team did a phenomenal job, negotiating $50k under asking on not one, but two fixer upper estate properties in the course of my search. I felt that I ended up with a really great value at the end of the day. Denise was able to guide me through the coop board application and interview process seamlessly, which included assembling an old-school binder of materials of which six copies had to be made, as well as a personal statement. There came a point where the ball was nearly dropped between the bank, the seller's agent, and the managing agent about scheduling a firm closing date and time, but Denise went to work getting everyone on track to ensure that the closing went forward on time. Even my attorney commented on how much work Denise did behind the scenes to ensure that everything moved ahead. Denise also accompanied me through the final walk through of the unit and discovered an electrical problem that I was able to have addressed in the closing. I truly could not have asked for a better agent to guide me through my first home purchase. Denise was absolutely phenomenal.

After our experience buying an apt in NYC with Amy, it was a no brainer to seek her help again when we wanted to look for a home in the suburbs. Her knowledge and thoroughness helped us navigate a tough buyers market. It was so reassuring to get her advice stemming from her years of experience and in the end we were able to buy our dream home. We cannot thank her enough and we highly recommend Amy!!

I recently purchased a condo in NY using Elika, with Amy Rivers as my agent, and I couldn't recommend her more. I started looking on a Tuesday and wound up putting an offer in that Friday, closing two months later almost to the day. She gave me a great list of initial properties, helped me sort through exactly what I wanted, suggested important things I hadn't considered, helped to prioritize, and was always immediately accessible for all of my many questions. Since I'm in CA it was a little difficult to schedule viewings but Amy made it easy. Once my offer was accepted Amy helped me navigate the sometimes-labyrinthine approval process, and again as a CA resident some of these NYC details really needed some navigating. Every step of the way, from helping me out with a final walkthrough I couldn't be there for to details even after closing about getting keys, utilities, etc, Amy was always there smoothing the way. Buying property is never easy but Amy made the whole process about as painless as it possibly could have been, I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again and I recommend her unreservedly.

I knew having a real estate agent would be crucial to finding an apartment in NYC, and I’m so glad that I chose to work with Elika Real Estate. Amy Rivers was the most wonderful person to work with. She was super helpful and patient, answering any question (no matter how silly) I might have. She really took into account my needs and wants when compiling a list of apartments during the viewing and I’m so happy to say that I’ve found my dream home. **2023 update** Amy Rivers is absolutely the best agent one can possibly hope for. She is a true professional and a very trustworthy person. She provided good and genuine advice. This is our second time working with Amy. Even before we started the search we knew that we wanted to work with Amy from such a fantastic first experience. The second time around we were looking in the suburbs and it's a whole other level of competition compared to NYC. Amy helped manage very tricky situations and difficult counterparts. She pushed hard where she needed to and got us a second chance at our house when the bidding process was not clear. She went above and beyond what one would expect a broker would do for their client. Even our other service providers commented on how responsible and reliable Amy is. My husband and I happened upon Elika Real Estate while looking for a broker to assist us with the purchase of our new apartment. We submitted a request via the website, and were very fortunate that Amy Rivers responded to our request. We had a great initial conversation with Amy about our needs and she was quick to provide us with options to start considering. We also provided options to Amy and she efficiently arranged all of the viewings that we wanted. We had a fun time looking at apartments with Amy. She asks a lot of great questions, and gave us a lot of food for thought as we looked at each option. The apartment we ended up deciding to purchase was one that was a suggestion from Amy and wasn't even on our radar. Amy was there for us and responsive throughout the whole process from research through purchase. She was always available for us to answer questions, give guidance, and just help keep us sane throughout the process. When my partner and I moved to NYC during the pandemic and started looking at buying our first condo, we weren’t sure what to expect. In Boston, we only had negative experiences with real estate agents and were apprehensive about working with one. I found Elika Real Estate in a Google search, and liked how they were buyer’s agents that would represent our best interests. Enter Amy Rivers. From the start, Amy was so thoughtful about our wants and needs for our new home, and was extremely knowledgeable about the NYC real estate market - down to each neighborhood. She was responsive each time we requested a showing (and there were a lot!) and was always kind and thoughtful throughout the process. Even after one of our deals fell through, she maintained her positive energy and knew we would find our perfect home. Amy was an absolute joy to work with, and a true gem in this industry.
